USMC C-117 Skytrain MCAS Futenma Okinawa Desktop Model with Pilot's Log Book and Name Tag. This plane was presented to Marine Lt.Col Conrad "Spud" Heinzerling at the end of his tour with MAG-36 at Futenma in June 1980. His name is painted on the cockpit left side. His actual Pilot's Aviation Flight Log Book which records him flying this airplane #17242 on numerous occasions is also included along with a leather name tag.
Flights were from/to Futema, Taipei, Clark AFB, Cubi Point, Iwakuni and Osan. The model has some issues, cracks in the right wing and both elevators and possibly other places, paint wear/blemishes, minor nicks/scrapes, discoloration/fading, props have been replaced.... Please see photos and ask questions. I challenge you to find another desktop model for sale with actual pilot log book entries. I don't know the exact scale but it appears to be approximately 1:62.
Wing span is approximately 18.5" and length is 13.5". It is made of some type wood, origin unknown but I suspect the Philippines.
