Our master craftsmen painstakingly handcraft each aero sculpture from the finest hardwoods. These aero sculptures, which range from 14 to 18 inches each in wingspan, are shaped with remarkable precision and attention to detail. Several stages of fine sanding, between primer coats, produce a smooth finish that is ready for final painting.Using ultra-fine brushes and decals, artists paint the nose art, stripes, and markings. A final coat of clear lacquer provides lasting protection and brilliance. Professional wood model builders will dedicate 65 actual working hours or at least a month, including curing and drying times, to complete one aero sculpture.
The common thought is that every model is a reflection of our customers' interest, achievements, lives and times. They are made to be passed down through generations. These handcrafted replicas make excellent conversation pieces and memorable keepsakes.
Mastercraft Collection offers over 1,000 aircraft model designs -- from military aircraft models to civilian airplane replicas. Each of our desktop models is prudently hand carved by our seasoned model builders to bring a faithful scaled reproduction of your favorite aircraft. More than mere displays, these models are a reflection of the times; and occasionally, of the personality of their owners. More importantly, they serve as family treasures that could be passed on to the younger generations. You will certainly appreciate the craftsmanship and history of our models. The De Havilland Beaver is a single-engined, high-wing, propeller-driven, STOL (short takeoff and landing) aircraft developed by de Havilland Canada. The Beaver is used for cargo and passenger hauling, aerial application (crop dusting and aerial topdressing), and has been widely adopted by armed forces as a utility aircraft. The Beaver was introduced in 1948 with production ceasing in 1967. However, hundreds of Beavers are still flyingmany of them heavily modified to adapt to changes in technology and needs.
